Victim, suspect identified in West Odessa murder

ODESSA, Texas (KOSA) - Ector County Sheriff Mike Griffis tells CBS7 that the victim in a murder Tuesday night has been identified as 21-year-old Arron Fuentez.

The suspect is 19-year-old Sebastian Jayden Ocon. He has been charged with murder.

Tuesday evening, deputies with the Ector County Sheriff’s Office responded to shots fired call.

According to Sheriff Mike Griffis, When deputies arrived at the 10100 block of Westridge, they found Fuentez dead in the property driveway.

A fight broke out between Fuentez and another person which Investigators were told were friends. After the fight was over, Sebastian Jayden Ocon, who watched the fight, took out a handgun and fired several rounds at Fuentes, fatally wounding him.

Ocon ran and was detained about 3 blocks from the scene.

Witnesses said that Ocon had fallen while running from the scene and sustained road rash injuries to his face.

Ocon was booked into jail for murder and bond was set at $750,000.
